Free to use, provided as is, and it does what you tell it
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and CraftedPxl, LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of the Rulomi Android app ("the app") and the operator of rulomiapp.com ("the site"). Questions go to info@craftedpxl.com.
What Rulomi is, and is not
Rulomi is a functional early version. It turns a written instruction into a routine made of up to four triggers, or none for a routine you start yourself, up to four conditions, and up to eight actions, and executes those actions using standard Android APIs. An on-device parser that recognises a fixed set of English phrases is tried first. With your consent, an instruction it cannot interpret, or a change you ask for to a saved routine, is sent to an AI planner (Claude, from Anthropic, reached through a server we run) to interpret it. How often you can do that is limited: 5 times free for each installation, and 100 more with Rulomi Plus; see below. When you have not consented, or that service is unavailable, the on-device parser's result is used. Either way the result is limited to the supported triggers and actions and is shown to you for review before it can run. The planner does not guess: instructions it cannot fully understand are rejected with an explanation and cannot be enabled.
The supported triggers, conditions and actions, and the things the app deliberately does not do, are listed on the capabilities section of the home page. Nothing in these terms or on the site promises features beyond that list.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your own purposes. The app is free to install and use; Rulomi Plus, described below, is an optional purchase that does not change this licence. You may not sell the app, charge for access to it, or distribute modified copies under the Rulomi name. You may not remove or alter the notices in the app or the site.
The app, the site, the Rulomi name, and the Rulomi mark are owned by CraftedPxl, LLC. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. If the app's source code is published under a separate open-source licence, that licence governs the source code and takes precedence over this section for the code it covers.
Rulomi Plus
What it is. Rulomi Plus is an optional one-time purchase sold through Google Play. It gives you 100 AI plans, on top of the 5 every installation gets free, and every recipe in Rulomi's recipe library, on top of the 5 that are free. Everything else — every trigger, every action, the on-device parser, and the app itself — is free without it, and there are no adverts either way.
What it is not. It is not a subscription: you pay once, and nothing renews. It does not unlock any trigger or action. Its plans do nothing while the AI planner is switched off in Settings, because then nothing is sent to be interpreted; the recipes work either way.
Price. Rulomi Plus costs US$4.99 in the United States; Google Play shows the price where you are. There is no free trial of Plus: every installation's first 5 AI plans are free, and they are the trial. Google Play is the seller: it takes the payment, shows the price in your currency, handles tax, and sends the receipt. We never see your payment details.
What a plan is, and what is not counted. An AI plan is one description, or one change to a routine, that the AI planner answers. A plan we answer from our store of common requests is not counted. Your 100 plans do not expire. When they are used up, the app plans your routines on the phone, as it does without Plus.
A fixed number of plans, not guaranteed availability. There is a limit on how much the service answers in a day in total, and it applies to Plus as well: when it is reached the planner is unavailable to everyone until the next day, and the app plans your routines on the phone instead, without using up your plans. Requests are rate-limited over short bursts too. Plus buys plans, not priority over other users, and not a promise that the planner will be available at any given moment.
Refunds. The payment is made to Google, so Google Play's refund policy is the one that applies, and you can request a refund from Google directly. Beyond that: if the planner was unavailable to you for most of the 30 days after you bought Plus, and you have used fewer than 10 of its plans, write to info@craftedpxl.com within 60 days of the purchase, and we will refund it in full through Google Play. A refunded purchase stops giving plans and locks the Plus recipes again; routines you already added from them stay yours. Nothing in this section affects rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
How the purchase is recognised. The app sends the purchase token Google Play gives it along with each AI planner request, and our server asks Google whether the purchase is complete and not refunded. The plans belong to the purchase rather than to a phone, so they follow you through a reinstall or onto another device signed in to the same Google account, and one purchase cannot be multiplied across several installations. Google's answer is cached for up to two days, so a change can take a short while to show. What is sent, and what we keep, is in the privacy policy.
If we discontinue the planner. If we withdraw the AI planner or shut the service down, we will stop selling Rulomi Plus that day and say so in the app and on this page. Where the shutdown is our own decision rather than something forced on us, we will give at least 90 days' notice, so you can use the plans you have. Anyone who bought Plus in the 90 days before we announce it will be refunded in full through Google Play. The app itself keeps working either way: the routines you have keep running, and the on-device parser keeps building new ones. Recipes you bought with Plus stay unlocked.
You are responsible for your routines
The app does exactly what a routine says. When you enable a routine that changes Do Not Disturb, the ringer mode, a volume, the screen brightness or timeout, auto-rotate, or the flashlight, or that posts a notification, speaks, or dismisses another app's notifications, you are instructing the app to make that change whenever the trigger fires, including at times when you may not want it. Before enabling a routine, read the review screen, which shows the trigger and each action the app understood.
In particular, you acknowledge that:
- Turning on Do Not Disturb can silence calls, alarms from other apps, and notifications you may need, depending on your Do Not Disturb settings. On Android 14 and older, turning Do Not Disturb off also ends Do Not Disturb that you or another app turned on. You are responsible for deciding whether that is acceptable.
- Brightness changes turn off adaptive brightness. Each volume action changes the stream it names, and Android treats silent and vibrate ringer modes as Do Not Disturb states.
- Pausing or deleting a routine stops future runs but does not undo changes already made, except that settings a routine is waiting to put back when what started it ends go back straight away. If you need a change reversed, end the routine with “restore everything after…” or, for a routine that starts when something begins, “put it back when it ends”; either puts back the volumes, brightness, ringer mode, Do Not Disturb, screen timeout, and auto-rotate it changed. A routine with more than one trigger puts things back only when none of its triggers holds any more. A put-back overwrites anything you changed by hand in the meantime. A restore after a time does not happen if Android loses the scheduled step, and one that waits for an end happens only when event monitoring next runs.
- If an action fails partway through a routine, the actions that already ran are not rolled back.
- A button on a routine's notification does what you set it to do. One that runs another routine makes all of that routine's changes, as if you had started it yourself. A Cancel button stops the actions that have not run yet; it puts back the changes already made only if the routine is set to put its settings back.
Execution is not guaranteed
Android decides when background work actually runs. Without the optional exact-alarm permission, scheduled routines may be delayed. Manufacturer battery management, force-stopping the app, and foreground-service restrictions can interrupt event monitoring. The app restores its schedules when it can, but we do not warrant that any routine will run at all, on time, or on every device. Do not rely on Rulomi for anything where a missed or late run would cause harm, such as medication reminders or safety-related alerts.
If you installed Rulomi from this site
From 0.5.0, Rulomi is distributed through Google Play. Rulomi 0.4.3, and later test builds of 0.5.0, were offered on rulomiapp.com as APKs signed with a debug key, and the Google Play version is signed with a different key, so Android will not install it over them. To move to the Google Play version you need to uninstall the copy from this site first, which removes its routines and run history. A test build of 0.5.0 can export your routines in Settings → Your routines before you uninstall, and the Google Play version can import the file. Version 0.4.3 cannot export routines, so note down any you want to keep before uninstalling and create them again in the new version.
Install Rulomi from Google Play. We are not responsible for copies of the app obtained anywhere else, which may have been modified.
Your data
The app keeps your routines and run history on your device. With your consent, routine descriptions the on-device parser cannot interpret, and saved routines you ask the AI planner to change, are sent to our server and then to Anthropic to be interpreted, and you can withdraw that consent in the app settings at any time. If you buy Rulomi Plus, the Google Play purchase token is sent with those requests so we can verify the purchase with Google. How that works, and what this site does and does not collect, is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Feedback
If you send us a bug report or suggestion, you grant us permission to use it to improve the app without any obligation to you. Do not include personal information about other people in a report.
No warranty
The app and the site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that it will work on your particular device or Android version, or that it will be maintained or updated. If you are a consumer, the law where you live may give you rights that cannot be excluded, for example if something you paid for is not as described, and nothing in this section affects them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CraftedPxl, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed alarms or notifications, silenced calls, changed device settings, or other loss arising from your use of or inability to use the app, the site, or Rulomi Plus, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app, the site, or Rulomi Plus is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid for Rulomi Plus in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for loss we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights as a consumer, for example if Rulomi Plus is not as described, and nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which removes its data from your device. A Rulomi Plus purchase stays with your Google account: reinstall Rulomi on a phone signed in to the same account and the plans you have left come back.
We may stop distributing the app, or change or discontinue the site, at any time without notice; for Rulomi Plus, see "If we discontinue the planner" above. Sections on licence restrictions, warranty, and liability continue to apply after you stop using the app.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Changes apply to versions of the app distributed after that date. Continuing to use a newer version after a change means you accept the updated terms. A change to these terms does not reduce the AI plans in a Rulomi Plus purchase made before the change.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the app, the site, or Rulomi Plus. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live if that law allows it.
