Turn on Do Not Disturb automatically at night
Android has its own Do Not Disturb schedules in Settings. With Rulomi you write the schedule as a sentence, and the same routine can change other settings too, such as turning the media volume down.
Type this
Every weekday at 10 pm turn on do not disturb and set media volume to 20%Rulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.
What Rulomi builds
- WHEN
- Monday to Friday at 22:00
- THEN
- Turn on Do Not Disturb, priority interruptions only
- Set the media volume to 20%
You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.
Access it asks for
- Do Not Disturb access, which Android also requires for the ringer and the ring and notification volumes.
- Precise timing is optional. Without it Android may run the routine a few minutes late.
Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.
Variations
Every day at 10:30 pm turn on do not disturbEvery night, weekends included.
Every weekday at 7 am turn off do not disturbA second routine that turns it off again in the morning.
Every day at 7 am set ring volume to 80% and turn off do not disturbA morning routine that also brings the ringer back up.
Good to know
- On Android 15 and later, Rulomi's Do Not Disturb is a rule of its own. It can't override a Do Not Disturb schedule or mode you set yourself, or another app's. On older versions it changes the phone's Do Not Disturb directly.
- A routine only does what it says, so turning Do Not Disturb off in the morning takes a second routine, like the second variation above.
