Flip your phone face down to turn on Do Not Disturb

RULOMI 0.8.0 · WORKS WITHOUT THE AI PLANNER
Turning the phone over is a natural way to say “not now”. Rulomi turns on Do Not Disturb when the phone lies face down, and puts it back when you turn it over again.

Type this

When I put my phone face down turn on do not disturb and put it back when it ends

Rulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.

What Rulomi builds

WHEN
The phone is face down
THEN
  1. Turn on Do Not Disturb, priority interruptions only
AFTER
When the phone is no longer face down, Do Not Disturb goes back to what it was.

You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.

Access it asks for

  • Do Not Disturb access, which Android also requires for the ringer and the ring and notification volumes.

Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.

Good to know

  • Face down comes from the accelerometer, which Android stops reporting once the screen is off. Turn the phone over with the screen on. If the screen was already off, Rulomi notices when it next comes on.
  • Rulomi doesn't hold a wake lock to keep watching, so it doesn't drain the battery waiting.
  • On Android 15 and later, its Do Not Disturb is a rule of its own that can't override yours or another app's.
