Dim the screen when the room gets dark

RULOMI 0.8.0 · WORKS WITHOUT THE AI PLANNER
Adaptive brightness guesses. If you know the level you want in a dark room, Rulomi can set exactly that when the light sensor says it's dark.

Type this

When it gets dark set brightness to 20% and put it back when it ends

Rulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.

What Rulomi builds

WHEN
It gets dark, by the light sensor
THEN
  1. Set the screen brightness to 20%
AFTER
When the light changes back, brightness goes back to what it was.

You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.

Access it asks for

  • Modify system settings, for brightness, screen timeout and auto-rotate.

Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.

Variations

When it gets very bright set brightness to 100% and put it back when it ends

Full brightness in sunlight.

Good to know

  • The light sensor is read only while the screen is on, and a phone lying face down reads as dark.
  • Setting the brightness turns off adaptive brightness.
  • Right after you enable the routine, the first reading only records how light it is. It fires on the next change.
