Turn on auto-rotate only for certain apps
Auto-rotate is handy for video and annoying everywhere else. Rulomi switches it on when a chosen app comes to the front, and puts it back when you leave.
Type this
When I open YouTube turn on auto-rotate and put it back when I leaveRulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.
What Rulomi builds
- WHEN
- YouTube opens. You confirm the app on the review screen
- THEN
- Turn on auto-rotate
- AFTER
- When another app or the home screen comes to the front, auto-rotate goes back to what it was.
You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.
Access it asks for
- App usage access, so Rulomi can tell which app is open. It's read on the phone and nothing is stored or sent.
- Modify system settings, for brightness, screen timeout and auto-rotate.
Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.
Variations
When I open Netflix turn on auto-rotate and set brightness to 80% and put it back when I leaveBrightens the screen for video too, and puts both back afterwards.
Good to know
- Opening an app is noticed while the screen is on.
- Pausing, changing or deleting the routine puts the settings back straight away.
- If what you really want is a change whenever the screen turns sideways, there's also a trigger for that: “when the screen turns landscape”. It follows the screen, so with auto-rotate off it only fires when an app turns the screen.
