Set the volume automatically when you plug in headphones

RULOMI 0.8.0 · WORKS WITHOUT THE AI PLANNER
Plugging in headphones at the volume the speaker was at is a classic way to get a fright. Pick the volume once and Rulomi sets it every time.

Type this

When I plug in my headphones set media volume to 40%

Rulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.

What Rulomi builds

WHEN
Headphones are plugged in
THEN
  1. Set the media volume to 40%

You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.

Access it asks for

  • Nothing for the actions themselves.

Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.

Variations

When I unplug my headphones set media volume to 10%

Turns the speaker down when the headphones come out.

When I plug in my headphones set media volume to 40% if on Wi-Fi or my car is connected, and between 10 pm and 7 am

Only at night, and only on Wi-Fi or in the car.

Good to know

  • Rulomi watches the phone's audio outputs, so a USB-C headset or adapter, or a USB audio device such as a dock or DAC, counts, not only the 3.5 mm jack.
  • For Bluetooth headphones, use a Bluetooth trigger instead. The car recipe shows how.
