Change the volume when your phone connects to your car

RULOMI 0.8.0 · WORKS WITHOUT THE AI PLANNER
Getting into the car is a routine of its own. Name the car in the sentence, pick it from your paired devices, and Rulomi does the rest each time it connects.

Type this

When my car connects set media volume to 70% and turn on do not disturb and put it back when it ends

Rulomi's on-device parser understands this as written, so it works with the AI planner switched off.

What Rulomi builds

WHEN
Your car connects over Bluetooth. You pick it from your paired devices on the review screen
THEN
  1. Set the media volume to 70%
  2. Turn on Do Not Disturb, priority interruptions only
AFTER
When the car disconnects, the media volume and Do Not Disturb go back to what they were.

You see this on the review screen before you enable it, and nothing runs until you do.

Access it asks for

  • Bluetooth, to notice the device connecting and disconnecting.
  • Do Not Disturb access, which Android also requires for the ringer and the ring and notification volumes.

Rulomi asks for access per routine, when a routine needs it, not all at once when you install.

Variations

When my car connects set media volume to 70%

Just the volume.

When my car disconnects set media volume to 30%

Runs when you leave the car instead.

When a Bluetooth device connects set media volume to 70%

Any Bluetooth device, not one in particular.

Good to know

  • A device with classic Bluetooth, as most cars, headphones and speakers have, is recognised by that link. Earbuds that play audio over LE Audio alone aren't seen connecting yet.
  • A link that drops and reconnects while connecting settles for five seconds, so one connection fires the routine once.
